Great spot to tuck into anyone exploring historic Williamsburg. Didn't try the burgers but the tacos are great. Good beer and vibes as well. Little slow but get a pass due to the massive influx of tourist. Will be back!
The last time we went, it got super packed that there was absolutely no place to sit, and we had to be quick to take a spot on one of the standing tables. So be wary, especially if there are events happening in Williamsburg! This place is very unique in that you have different stalls to choose food from and one long bar that serves all the drinks. There are a few arcade games but it's definitely not the same amount of arcade games compared to a place like Circuit Social. And since people come in here with their families, it's mainly the kids playing around in the arcade area. If you're looking for a more chill spot to drink, this place may get a bit hectic. If you're looking for a more energetic scene without necessary being "clubby" this place on a busy weekend may be the place for you!
Long drive from Florida and this was our first stop. We needed good food and good beer, and Precarious delivered. Couple of things to note, it wasn't the easiest to find how to get inside or understand what was happening if you had never been but we managed to find the right door and were faced with burger choices! Only I chose the Nashville chicken sandwich, which while was delicious it wasn't very nashvilly Not sure how I feel about the "dirty sauce" yet that came with the friends.. The smash burger my husband got was delish! Fries were good and the beers even better! My first interaction with Precarious was in 2019 when I ordered some (and took some home) while eating at Amber Ox Public House (btw go there too!!) So it was nice to eat at the brewery this time and we were not disappointed
Precarious Beer Project is a craft brewery that opened in Williamsburg, Virginia in June 2019. It was founded by business partners Andrew Voss and Chris Cook. The first establishment to be opened by the partners was the Amber Ox Public House in December 2017. This restaurant featured classic Southern fare with a modern contemporary twist. The dishes were paired up with beers brewed in house. Voss and Cook named the brewing operation 'Precarious Beer Project'. Not only did the food at Amber Ox take off but so did the brews. Eventually, the brewing operation outgrew the restaurant space and the partners decided to give Precarious Beer Project its own independent space where it could can, package and expand distribution. PBP opened at their new 9,700-square-foot beer hall at Merchant Square with food options from Electric Circus (a street-style taqueria) and Ol' Dominion Burger (a burger and chicken joint). My family and I visited Precarious Beer Project for lunch this past summer while we were on a road trip. Williamsburg has a large craft beer scene. After doing some research, we saw that PBP was one of the highest ranked breweries in the area. Not only that, but it's a short walk from Colonial Williamsburg; it's practically on the property. The beer hall was huge and even came with a good sized-arcade... much to the delight of my two young sons. Out of the beer hall's two food choices, only Ol' Dominion Burger was open that day. I ordered the "First Rodeo" (American cheese, bacon jam, fried onions, house barbecue sauce, pickled jalapeño) while my wife ordered the "Nash Bird" (Nashville spiced, bibb lettuce, ranch, dill pickles). We both also ordered sides of Fries (with dirty sauce). Both sandwiches were excellent and the fries were so cripsy and flavorful. I washed my burger down with a draught pour of "Everything Is Lava But The Swings Are Base" (Double New England IPA), which was super delicious and refreshing. I also had a pour of "Lemonade & Shade: Grape" (grape soda-inspired shandy), which was as interesting as it was refreshing. We had an excellent experience at PBP and would love to return on a future trip to Williamsburg!
My niece decided she wanted to go out drinking with her OG Aunt so, we made plans to go and have a couple of drinks. Since I am unfamiliar with the area and she is a student she wasy navigator. It was very easy to find as it's right across from the Art museum. We were lucky enough to get a parking spot right up to the door. When you walk in you can see the "behind the scenes" of the brewery. Then there is the beer hall area. The is a very long bar that takes up one side and two places for food vendors (currently Electric Circus and Old Dominion burgers) so you aren't just drinking. There are also games like basketball, air hockey and arcade games. They offer a wide variety of their beers. Some of them are infused with terpenes (the pot smell) which gives it a musky flavor I had a lager and my niece got a sour cider. We chose of of the many couches to chill and chat. We had such a great time chatting and catching up. The only minus was that they really don't have a lot for non drinkers. While they have some non alcoholic brews, a designated driver may want something other than non alcoholic beer or water. Other than that this is a great place to hang.
